How to set Gender Male to show the word "Male" when I echo it from radio button?

Hello my code is

                <input type="radio" name="gender" id="option1" autocomplete="off"> Male
            </label>
            <label class="btn ">
                <input type="radio" name="gender" id="option2" autocomplete="off"> Female
            </label>
            <div id="emailHelp" class="form-text">Required</div>
</code>

and cookies is set 

<code>
setcookie("userGender", $gender, time()+ (86400));
</code>

Then the output page is 

<code>
$userGender = $_COOKIE["userGender"];
</code>

When i am in my output page the gender is show as "on" >??? I dont see any word on.

I can see that your radio buttons do not have value in them. So by default, it will return "on" or "off".


<input type="radio" name="gender" value="male" id="option1" autocomplete="off"> Male

<input type="radio" name="gender" value="female" id="option1" autocomplete="off"> Male

Given that your other PHP code works, this should do the job.
