<form method="POST">
<div class="input_field">
<label for="comments" class="label">Message: <b class="error">*</b></label>
<input type="text" name="comments" class="form-control" value="<?php echo $comments; ?>">
</input>
</div>
</form>
VS
<textarea id="form_message" name="message" class="form-control" placeholder="Message for me *" rows="4" required="required" data-error="Please,leave us a message."></textarea>
Hi there, i am using php and HTML to do up a contact us form. I understand that with the <textarea> header I can give a nice message box where the wordings doesn't get hide behind the screen as it's wrapped nicely with sufficient space. However, I would want to keep the value of the form intact on their message to allow user to edit the form before submitting it again. How can I achieve the textarea box with an input tag?
